Gold Seal was founded in 2003 in metropolitan Atlanta. It went online with the internet’s first online ground school in 2006. Since then, tens of thousands of aviators have passed their FAA exams using Gold Seal’s internationally recognized Knowledge Transfer Systems.
Development on what would become the Remote Pilot Ground School began in 2014. The Gold Seal training program went live in early 2015 after the February release of the FAA’s NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rule Making). In early 2016 the FAA published the official ACS (Airman Certification Standards) for the new Remote Pilot certificate. Gold Seal flight instructors quickly updated the ground school making it the first FAA-compliant Remote Pilot Ground School in the world.
Gold Seal was founded by Russ Still and is a division of Atlanta Flight, Inc. Russ is an Airline Transport Pilot, Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII), and six-time Master CFI.
